    headers or what ?

I now have a 99SS 33k miles on it . It is a m6 with a slp loudmouth and slp air box / lid K&n filter. I am thinking about some mods. The car will be a nice day cruiser only. What mods ? headers with or with out the cats. And what brand is good . I only what to do this once. (sst or coated) Also some guy at slp said i should get a new intake (ls6 I think) and new mass air ?
What is the most bang for the buck. This will be a saturday night cruser.
    thanks

MAF, you don't need one until you are pushing more power. LS6 intake, it will make a noticable difference, but if you only want to do it once, I would buy the FAST intake, for headers sake, I would get them coated for sure. Pacesetters are more affordable, but I have always been a fan of Hooker, that is what I have now and I have no complaints. I have about 25,000 trouble free miles on them. They are not that expensive either. As for cats or no cats, that is tricky, I have no cats but you have to find someone that will remove them since it is illegal, plus there is not that much power being lost with haveing cats. I had stock cats, then high flow cats, and finally no cats and I did not notice one differece between the three set ups in power.

Have they corrected that banging issue that a lot of LS1 owners were having with Pacesetters?

i have a pro kit but i havent put it on because i already scrape on sxome bad angles.... with the prokit and the pacesetters i wouldn't go over any speed/big bumps or hit any big-medium holes in the road

I would go with Hooker thats what i got on my car, pacesetters are good headers, but alot of people have trouble with them hitting the floor board; of course your going to get what you pay for. You dont real need an intake if your going to keep it as a cruzier and not a race car.

I agree with the Hooker's. I just installed some about a month ago and they fit perfectly, not scraping on the ground and not hitting the floorboard
