keep the engine in..you will free up quite a bit of room when you take the old exhaust out....go from the bottom ....check your clearances before you bolt the headers completely up..some trimming might be needed...and while you are there..change your motor mounts...TRUST ME!

dont take this the wrong way..but you might be over your head a little on installing these headers..that is unless you can use a lift..are comfortable with a sawzall or getting under your car and jacking your car pretty high.

you wont have to take the engine out, some people have had to notch their k member though. Also try and get gm gaskets if you can.

If emissions are not a problem get LT's, 3" ORY (Off Road Y-pipe), Cut Cats, and get either a CAT Back System or not.
I have cut my CATs and have a Magnaflow mufflerhttp://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/
