    Angry Headers on lowered car

I just lowered my 01 camaro ss, time to do exhaust. Somewhat unfortunately I basically dunked my car with sportlines, so it will be hard to fit LTH under my car. I live in new england so they can't really hang down, or something's coming off. Also, noise could be an issue, can't sound like a nascar here. Advice! Headers with good GC

    Sadly now demodded :(

Hate to say this but, "Good Luck." My QTP headers tuck pretty good but my TD's are pretty low. Due to this I've decided to leave the car at stock height. QTP's ain't cheap either (mine are SS). I've also heard good things about Stainless Works and Pace Setters. I've heard nothing but bad news about SLP's headers. I'm sure more folks will chime in.

Have you ever looked at MAC mid-lengths? They are a good header in between long tubes and shorties.

I never looked at them before. I just read up a little, by the looks of them they should flow much better than shorties... Anyone have any experience with them?

that was the day after the springs were installed so it hae settled a little more, but I will tell you this if I could do it again I would have lowered it more. My 2 best buddies one has a 2 inch lift with kooks and I haven't ever seen him rub and my other buddy has a 2 inch drop and he has QTP's and I haven't seen him rub EXCEPT he has and aftermarket company up here do his exshaust and it sits way to low and rubs at times...

Stay away from shorties, go with long tubes...

You think even mid lengths are worthless? I am taking a pic today and posting it to show current GC and see what people think. I'd really like LTH, but I've got a bad feeling I'll be listening to them smashing bumps in the road. Pics later today

I scrape now going over some speedbumps with LT FLP headers and my car is a 02 Z28 stock springs and Bilstein shocks. I would say mid lenghts would be fine though. You could also buy LT's and have them modded to tuck better, I looked at mine and they could be cut and welded to tuck great, but I haven't done it.

You should be fine with MAC's they are good compromise for ground clearance.

I just bought macs w/ an ory. MAC's are a good compromise between LT's and shorties, they dont offer the gains of LT's but they still make good power

I have the SLP LTs. The pass side is really low. I'm lowered with Eibachs, I think down about 2 inches, maybe 1.5 I forget. I only hit a couple speed bumps until I learned to avoid them. But I also made up a quick steel deflector to help slide over any unavoidable bumps. When driving, if I have to clear something, I steer away from the pass side. But the air dam in the front is just as low... acts as a snow plow.

sounds like mac mid-lengths would fit you pretty good if you're that concerned with clearance. I figure you would be able to get by with LT's because on my car the bottom of driveshaft safety loop hangs lower than my headers ( pacesetters). There's been some guys make really good power on mac's so I wouldn't sweat it to much. I would first try to get the LT's to work but Mac's wouldn't be a terrible second choice.
