Headers
Hey dunno if this has been posted before or not but just curious. Whats your opinions on headers. Any brand better for the LS1. Hear alot out of kooks, and pacesetter. just curious if what everyone is running and if there is any real difference between all of them.
It is What it is.

I am happy with my ceramic coated, tuned-length long tube Hookers. Fit was first class, and with their 3" ORY, I actually gained about 1" ground clearence. No leaks yet, they are 1 year old.

Oh yeah, gained 1.5 - 2 MPG @ 75 MPH, now 27-28.5. Gained 3 MPH at the drag strip, now runnin' best of 12.89 @ 109.89, usually 13.0x @ 109.5. Was running mid to low 13s @ 104-107, 26-27 MPG

I run 12.8s aswell, with headers, lid and catback. I have SLP headers, which give good power gain, but hang a little low, also my car is lowered and i can deal with it fine, some people dont like adjusting to low hanging exhaust. I saw a large mph gain with heads, not to mention my exhaust sounds more badass. I went from 106s-107s to 108-110.6 being my highest. Thats on street tires, 245s.

I had to get rid of my SLP longtubes. Rookie modding mistake.
I scraped them ALL the time when I had them, and I was at the stock ride height.
I am now dropped with Kooks. Haven't touched the headers once.
Pacesetters and JetHots are great for those on a bit of a budget. If they had the longtubes I needed for my build, I would have gone with them.
Kooks has some of the best headers for the LS1 F-Body's. I love mine. Great fit, very nice workmanship.

KOOKS and QTP= Best headers for the LS1. However get ready to shell out $$$, with the headers alone comming up to about $900. Add a catted Y pipe and thats another 400-500. So ur looking at $1300-1400.

Thanks Mr. Lous seen all your videos on you tube and think your car is one of the baddest on the street so your opinion matters alot. But yeah i was going to go with slp originally but the more i talked to people the more i heard how bad ground clearence is and where i live the roads aren't exatly smooth plus i can't go anywhere without going over some pretty rough train tracks.

I got my Kooks for $825 shipped. No y-pipe.
Wait for specials if you can and you decide to go with the high priced ones.
SLP's on top. They were on the car for about a year. Car doesn't see rain. Lower set is the Kooks on the car now.

The only thing "bad" about the Pacesetters is they are not tuned length. Not sure how much this costs the engine in the HP dept, maybe only 3-5. However, any long tube header is a massive improvement!

ive been told by a handful of people that you can usually come out cheaper by buying a set of black painted headers and then having them ceramic coated at you local armor coating shop, i looked into but i kept calling the wrong type of ceramic coaters so i gave up
