Everybody I know has the Pacesetter headers. They sound great, hold up good, and are pretty cheap. I know that a couple of the sponsors on the site carry them.

Oh, I didn't realize you had a 97. I don't really know about LT1 headers, but I would guess the Pacesetters are just as good in LT1 form as they are in the LS1 form.

LT5, huh? REALLY!? Rare motor you got there. Post up some pics of it if you can.
Since I really don't know jack shit about the LT5's, can't say for sure that any LT1-style header will fit the heads of the LT5. I assume that they have the same D-shape exhaust ports, but other than that, good luck. But get some pics up.

I'm down with some pics...that sounds like a killer swap. You might have to custom fabricate some headers as I doubt the C4 Corvette ones will fit (I have a 1990 Vette and there is way more room than a 4thGen) and obviously there was never a LT5 option for the F-Body. Again, please post pics.

That is a Corvette, not a Trans Am.
Dead give-aways: Master-cylinder. PCM. Open wheel-wells from Clam-shell hood. Radiator hose. Firewall.
I could list a bunch more as I own a C4, but you get the point...

I doubt the LT5 shares anything in common with the regular SBC. It was made by Lotus and Mercury Marine so My guess is you will have to spend lotsa money to get a set of headers custom made to fit especially since the LT5 is wider than a SBC it might be as difficult as putting a BBC in one of these cars. I wanna see how that sucker fits. How much clearance is between the Valve covers and shock towers and the cowl? Gotta be tight as hell. At least plug changes should be easy. Also forgot to mention it is a 4v engine so it will sound different than a standard V8 I'm sure.

NBM- '98 Ram Air Formula
The lt5 was designed by Lotus but made by Mariner/Mercury Marine. BTW they came with headers...shorties that fed right into the cat.
