It all depends on how much money you want to spend. Alot of guys on here go with the pacesetters, cause they're inexpensive, ceramic coated and of good quality. I personally chose the hooker's cause of the name (they've been around forever) but was surprised by the quality which was very good. All the welds were nicely done and they were also ceramic coated. But if you want to spend some real money, by far some of the best have to be QTP and Kooks, which are made of stainless and will last a lifetime. But they will cost you a pretty penny, 800 bucks i believe.

All in all, youll probably end up spending that much anyways. But thats for the entire thing(headers and exaust system). I spent a total of 1350 bucks on my headers (hooker lt's=$600) plus exhaust system (850 bucks.) And then you figure in the small stuff like o2 sims(if youre gonna run without cats) new gm gaskets(36 bucks in my case) and other stuff like new plugs(if you want to change them while the manifolds are off) and hardware, which is purely optional. Just dont spend 1200 bucks on headers alone!

i went with the stainless headers from ebay. $370 shipped, alot of people have bad cases with em, but mine went in smooth. as stated above, dont spend over 1g on headers alone, cuz you'll proly end up changing alot more than just manifolds.

all LT headers make about the same ower.
if you want bling bling, get stainless.
if you dont care about alittle surface rust, get non stainless.
it not like they will rust threw any time soon.

Headers for LS1 cars are outrageous! The headers and midpipe for the last 5.0 I built cost me $260 and took me about 2 hours to install. Until I can buy headers for my C5 that are $300 or less, I'll just stay stock.... Hell, I'll take a very well put together nitrous system for less than a set of stainless headers and a midpipe cost and make an extra 120hp.

the dynatech system is nice if your planning on running cats, plus it's suppose to bolt up to an existing exhaust.
don't cheap out on gaskets (the dynatech has pretty good ones), and retighten all the bolts and clamps after about a week of driving. with a good cat back, you should see about 30-35 whp gain

I thought this was a GM Forum
