Depending on your budget, Kooks are a highly recommended brand but higher priced. Pacesetters are reasonably priced and pretty good.

My friend bought a set of BBK longtubes with the y-pipe and they fit perfect. After seeing his and how well they fit I'm ordering mine next week. I was going with pacesetter but I've changed my mind

I bought the Chrome BBK LTs and pipe set from Jeggs under 4 bills the fits was perfect no issues with the K member or steering column. They tuck up nice underneath the car. The only issue is you will have is the passenger side fits so tight that the flange hits the heat shield when it's running. A little fines with a hammer problem solved. Great for a tight budget

so the chrome BBK's turned out good for you then, I was going to try and go stainless if possible. Any rust or wear on the chrome BBK's?

I've only had them on for a few month but there are other guys on this site that have had them for a while with no issues. You can also get them ceramic coated for a little more cake

I just put the chrome BBKs and and y in my car. Very easy install with no clearance problems. The hardest part was removing the original exhaust manifold bolts and those rear coil pack bolts.
As a plus they look even better when they start to turn gold.

    Sadly now demodded :(

I've had stainless steel QTP LT's with no emissions hookups (I.E. race headers) on my car (the 2002) for 5 years now and they work great and still look new. I also have a custom set of TD's and an X-pipe with dumps at the axle.

The QTP's are a bit pricey as well but not clearance issues at all.

For budget concerns coated PaceSetters are the way to go.

Note: Unless it's the lid, DO NOT buy anything from SLP as their parts are way expensive and in the case of the headers, while they are equal length tubes, they're in the way of everything and hang down very low.

2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). I have SLP long tubes on my 00 SS. Only reason I got them is bc my friend sold them to me brand new with the install kit for $400

I have had the chrome BBK header for a little over a year, and they still look to be in good shape with no rust.

Still trying to decide on what to get. Ive tried to do some research and SLP, Kooks, BBK all look like great headers. Im away at work right now so that I can afford to play with my toys lol. I got time to think and decide and ill prolly go with the best deal i can find on any 1 of those 3 Headers.

Did you all install headers yourself? The engine area is real tight in my car and looks like it would be a real pain. Any thoughts on how to approach putting these on with some good help from friends and dad?

I did my Kooks by myself - read the tutorial above and get the car as high in the air as you can and the drivers side should slip in from below the car. It had to be nearly vertical and then turned into place. Watch the coolant temperature sensor since you stand a good chance of breaking it as you move the driver's header into position. I've broken mine every time I unbolt that header.
