    Header,y pipe install

    What all is need for a 2002 trans am for the header install

    i'm looking at hooker super comps with Hooker y pipe.

    I have a catback already

    what length 02 extensions will i need?
    what kind of spark plugs should i use?


    so

    header,
    y pipe
    02 extensions
    spark plugs


    is there anything else that i need?

    You will want 12" extensions. You can reuse the stock gaskets, but might want to get a set of Stage 8 header bolts. You can reuse the old ones, but it would be a good idea to get new ones.

    I used NGK TR-55 spark plugs. Will have to change them a little more often but they are dirt cheap. I reused the stock bolts and gaskets. Everything sealed up fine. Did cross thread a bolt but just put some washers on the end to get a tight seal. Shouldn't be a problem. It happens quite a bit. Sound like everything else is good to go. Just get some extensions. I got the 24" from WS6store.

    If the system you are getting is all slip fit, which most I have seen are,,,then it would be best to grab some band clamps instead of the crush clamps. You may need to remove it later on, and the crush clamps will ruin that possibility.
