OR Header Smell
Sorry about all the questions just want to get it right. Does the OR header smell that people say is there with no cats is it that noticable that when you go by people on the street they notice the smell and say damn what the hell is wrong with his car and when people get in your car do they think some one died in your car because of the smell or is it barely noticable at all.

HAHAHAHa I had a smell too but I think that was before I got the A.I.R. hooked up all the way. first make sure you don't have any leaks in it take it to the shop if you have too just to make sure everything is tight. I had a smell and now it is disappearing. and yea I call that the hot rod smell. smells like gas and exhaust at the same time a little

Start up your car when it is cold, before the cats start working. Go behind it and take a smell of the exhaust. Thats what the car will smell like when you rev it or stomp the gas when you are catless, it shouldn't smell inside the car at all though unless you have a bad exhaust leak.
I really don't mind the smell at all, my friends have older cars with no cats, and it doesn't really bother me.

Mine smells pretty strong and it sticks to clothes. My wife can barely tolerate it...

Noticed no smell with mine, LT and ORY. It does scare the cat in my garage when I start the car in the morning now, lol! I like how agressive it sounds on start up, especially cold. At least with the new cars, with fuel injection, it is usually not so rich.
My old '67 Firebird 400 4 SPD car had headers (true duals, too!) had a Holley carb on it that was always rich running and the fumes just from idling in the garage would run me outta there.

guys I sometimes start my engine and let it run a little while and sniff around. I don't smell anything under the hood. I do smell it when I'm driving with my air on though. What's up?
When I do the sniff test I rev and every thing and I don't see why I'd be smelling exhuast especially from under the hood since at the back of my hood there're the rubber seals.

I don't know about that, whether the exhaust smell makes me happy or funny feeling. Maybe I'm getting high and just don't know it...
