Have a few ?'s about air intakes.

Ok so I got a 99 z28 camaro auto tranny, I just bought it not to long ago it came with lt headers (not sure which brand), an ory-pipe (not sure which brand) no cats an 3" exhaust, an a K&N 57 series FIPK air intake.
My questions to you guy's is would you rather have the K&N intake or a SLP lid type of intake?
I really don't like the look of the K&N intake an am seriously thinking of switching to the SLP intake.
Also since my car came with the K&N intake I would need to get the factory lower intake box correct?
An I did some research an I believe that any factory lower intake box from a camaro/firebird will swap right back into place even if it's a v6 car correct?

    Air intake

I would switch.. K&n is great but I prefer the lid. To my knowledge the v6 intake is too small. Just find a v8 and go that route.

The lower airbox housing should be the same size. Just don't pick up a V6 lid since the neck on the lid that attaches to the bellow is offset and not centered like the V8 lid.

Honest answer: Pitch the K&N in the trash and either go with a nano filter like the Amsoil Ea or a good quality paper filter. K&N allows way too much dirt to pass into an engine.

+1 also the K&N if not properly dried the oil will effect you maf, and over time kill it. I still use paper filters with my SLP lid. I also have done the air mod to let more air get to the filter. It helps but I do have to change filters more often then normal.
