    Gutting catalytic converters question

If i gutted the cat on my T/A, would the service engine light stay on because of the O2 sensor? Anyone with advice on gutting cats i'd appreciate the help.

Yes, you'll throw the SES. If you decide to gut it I'd gut the other bank too, and have the codes turned off.

In my opinion, if you are considering this route. Recycle the cataletics, that crap in the middle is Tungsten (if I remeber correctly) anyways in my area its $7 a pound for them. Then get long tube headers, it will give you more HP and you won't have any wierd hollow sounds. I know allot of people do it, but I think the sound is more clear with LTH.

check local salvage yards, in my area used cats are going for as much as $150 each depending on size, you could use that money to get a mail order tune

I work in the fleet vehicle industry, I can't tell you how many claims we get for people stealing converters off of the E250's(Sears vehicles being the worst hit).

People are climbing under them and hacking them right off.

    -89 GTA*** L98, P1-SC, 24# SVO's, MSD 6-A, March underdrive pulleys, Edelbrock headers/catback and some other goodies.
