gto ls6 intake and throttle body

I have a chance to buy a ls6 intake and throttle body off of a 2004 gto. My question is will i have to change the maf to run the intake and throttle body.

    Thanks for any input

Just get the Intake, and use your stock TB. You can port and polish it and it will work great.

No the MAF will work fine.

Pass on the throttle body, it won't even work on your car.

I got the years mixed up. His being a 2000 will work with the 2004 GTO throttle body. The 98-99 cars will not work.

Throttle body cams are different. Just bolting one up will leave the throttle partially open.

yes, you can remove the EGR on 98-00 cars and they will still run.

yes, the GTO have the LS6 valley cover. doesn't matter, the PCV still hooks to the neck of the intake in the same place. what does matter is the coolant lines. the LS1 have coolant lines running under the intake. with the LS6 they use blockoffs for the rear coolant holes and only have a crossover line in the front.

you can see it here in this pic
    http://store.summitracing.com/largei...le-30039_w.jpg

it's not needed. you just need to remove the ribs off the bottom of the intake to clear the LS1 lines.

anyone have the part number for the ls6 intake that would go on my car the easiest if there are any difference in ls6 intakes?? best place to buy one from... cheapest place to get one?? anyone have one?!?!?! lmao

The only you need to change it the EGR setup. Other than the SLP LS6 intake (which is modified to accept EGR), the LS6 intake has no provisions for the EGR. The manifold is literally a direct swap, and an easy one at that. You will need to remove the EGR and install block off plates on the exhaust manifolds/headers. Buy the coolant crossovers designed for the LS6 manifold - don't crush/bend the stockers and grind on the intake.

Yeah, the SLP modified LS6 intakes are quite expensive, like $200-$250 more than a used LS6 intake. Used SLPs are VERY rare.
