Google your Vin Number or do a Carfax to be sure. I can't see someone putting that crap on a newer car. Did you buy it from a dealer or private seller. I'd be really pissed off if I was lied to about the year of car. Then again I would have also run a Carfax for a used vehicle.

Someone back me up here, but I seen plenty of postings on here that stated 98-99 had EGR/Air Pumps, 2000 and up GM stopped installing. The 2000 yr I'm not so sure about.

Look at this thread, in pic 4 does your engine bay look like this behind the throttlebody?

    Header install (other details)

I've got a 2000 and it has all that crap on it. Could it be California emissions? Did the Cali cars keep the EGR on them? I think I remember a post up here recently where a 01 or 02 had the egr on it...

How many lines did you take off the exhaust manifolds? Did you also remove the egr valve from the front of the passenger side head? You may have only removed the AIR and not have an EGR to remove.

Our 2002 was originally a California car. Once I realized that, I posted a question in a thread entitled "Californication" asking if there was any difference in the emissions equipment. The answer I received was "No, there is not a difference." Our car does not have an EGR system and there is no hole in the intake for one to be installed.

Not sure what to tell you about the VATS delete- but how much juice does the battery have? My battery just took a dump so I replaced it with a red-topped Optima. When it died, everthing would come on but dimly. When I'd try to turn it over it would just click- not enough juice to turn it over.

+1 Get a booster or charger on the battery and see what that does. Not sure what does it, but our battery drags down fairly quickly when we let our car set for a few weeks. It always starts, but when I put a charger on it the charging light doesn't go out for the better part of a day sometimes.

Why did you do the bypass? Do you have the original security key? Can you uninstall the bypass to see if thats the problem?

Start in the underhood electrical boxes and find the appropriate relays and fuses that need to be triggered for the car to crank. You can test, inspect and/or possibly swap them out with identical ones from other circuits to see if that makes a difference. The starter relay is a prime suspect.

You mentioned your battery and connections at the battery -- how about the other ends of the cables? A loose connection at the starter would cause an intermittant cranking issue. It's also possible that you have cooked or broken a wire if you have headers.

If you do not find anything, then again go back over your VATS system to see if you might have inadvertently wired it wrong, or disconnected something else. It may take some time to track it down -- be patient and let us know what you find.

    ----------------------------------------------

One other thought -- you mentioned that you pulled the secondary air fuse and relay. Any chance you grabbed the wrong ones out of the box?
