GMMG or Magnaflow?
I already have a Magnaflow high end muffler and tips for the car but, I'm drawn to the GMMG chambered.
Both have great reviews by the customer and my mag is great.
Would I notice any diff if I were to change to a GMMG when I get my headers or should I just leave the Magnaflow and save my money?

Ive had Magnaflow myself, i do think that GMMG sounds better but they should both flow equally. Magnaflow really flows well and if you gain anything going to GMMG, it wouldnt be much if anything.

2 different sounds.
as far as performnce, they are dead nuts, but the gmmg is just louder.
magnaflow is great if you drive a lot on the highway, or have tall gears, or have a bunch of cops around. gmmg is if you dont give a fuck!!! hahahahaha
if I could do it all over again, I would prolly save up for the gmmg, or do a custom chambered catback. chambered exhaust sound awesome!

From what I have read Headers and Magnaflow work very well together. GMMG gets Very loud with headers I have heard. I have GMMG and don't plan on doing with headers.

I would say if you have the money get GMMG. I just got mine and I am so glad I did. I've got headers with no cats and it's not to loud at lower rpms. But I don't know if it flows any better than magnaflow. But the sound is awsome!!!

Yeah, I've heard a mixed bag here and there about both. Really comes down to preference I guess. Maybe I'll try the Magnaflow with the headers first to see what that is like before doing anything too radical with it.
There is an 02 SS for sale at a mom & pops car sales place down the road with just a GMMG exhaust on it. I'll run down there this weekend and listen to it with just the chambered first.
I've heard sound clips but, not a good representation to real audibles.

Iv got Pacesetter's and ory with a magnaflow on my 00 Z, sounds pretty good. In the process of instailing a cutout on it thou. I can upload ya a clip if ya want. The GMMG sounds good but i dont think its worth the cash.

I know someone that may be selling a used GMMG.
There is a reason he got rid of it though. It is in great shape, just didn't like the rasp.
He went Magnaflow duals much like mine.
For the price, you can get Pacesetters and the Magnaflow catback or the GMMG catback with nothing else.2008 Trailblazer SS

Magnaflow sounds pretty deep especially with headers, when your cruising around town its not bad at low speed. Mine would drone but i got use to it and wasnt bad at all, i can see if it was a major difference between the 2 exhaust meaning the GMMG is soo much better but performance wise, not at all and yes the tips do look nice. I would keep what you got try it out with the headers and if your 100% sure you dont like the sound then find a used one.

Im gonna vote magnaflow, it will get deeper and louder with the headers and ory, but IMO i think that the hooker areochamber is closer to the GMMG...

i have a gmmg and i f-ing love it. it is worth every bit of the $900. i just feel like you might as well do it right the first time.
HOWEVER, if you already have the magnaflow, just try that first. wont hurt anything. you can always change it later. who know, you might love the tone of what you already have. but i can promise you one thing, you WILL fall in love with the gmmg when you hear it in person!
and if youre interested, i bought the oval tips with mine, but then went with corsa tips. ive never installed them and theyre still in the box. if you end up liking the sound of your magnaflow but want the oval tip look, id be happy to sell them to you.Last edited by mpfranks; 01-20-2009 at 03:07 PM.
