    GM Header Gasket or Copper?

    Got my Pacesetters today and they sent copper gaskets with them. Thought about usin the GM gaskets and if they let go havin the copper ones for back up.

    if you have the copper ones already though why not go ahead and use them? That's what I would do. Copper gaskets used to be the preferred gasket. The stock GM gaskets are a good cheap piece though.

    I have copper and GM. I'm just a little leery about the copper ones though. I tried them on a Mustang before and for some reason couldn't get them to seal for nothin. Ended up usin Mr. Gasket and high temp silicone and never had a problem.

    well, if I had both sets I would probably use the GM gaskets.

    GM gaskets are good IMO. I would use though to be safe if you are unsure about the copper ones.

    Went with the GM gaskets and prayed bout 50 times for no leaks and everything turned out great.

    I used NEW GM gaskets, even though the old ones only had 12,000 miles on them.
    Was told by many to use the old ones, if they were in good shape, but I figured I could afford new ones for $30.
