Getting ready to do new exhaust, what do you guys think?

I'm planning on buying a catback first, then later on(eitehr later this summer or next summer maybe) getting some Pacesetter LT's and an ORY. The two main choices I have right now for catbacks are Hooker and Magnaflow. I want to have a deep powerful musclecar-like sound too it, but it doesn't have to be very noisy(louder that stock, yes, but not annoyingly loud).

Now, I know the Hooker is known to be pretty quiet, but what does that mean? How does it compare to stock at start-up, idle, cruising around(light accelerations), and then heavy accelerations and WOT? How does it compare to the Magnaflow too?

Lastly, how would they both sound (noisy-ness and sound quality both) after I get my LTs and ORY? I don't really want to have rasp to it if possible, but I don't know if thats a problem with these catbacks.

    Thanks for your help!

I see this is your first post. If not ls1sounds.com then I think you should think about reading some of the other dozen or so threads addressing your question. You will find the answers you seek.

the hooker is louder than stock. the magnaflow is slightly louder than the hooker yet more raspy. the hooker has the more so deep mellow tone.
the hooker is the better choice when you do get headers.

i have the bassani tru-duals on both of my cars. with my black car being all stock motor, the exhaust is noticeable at idle versus stock. when you get on it, it's loud out the back, but not in the car. the system bolts directly to the stock cats. click the 00 formula link in my sig to see pics of it installed on the car. the sound clip on ls1sounds is my car.
