    Getting New exhaust and tune....suggestions

Hey, ive got an 02 ws6 its completely stock and im wanting to get exhaust. I trying to choose from a couple of different brands...i was gonna go with SLP then i saw some threads on here about how they were poop. So i started looking at GMMG but they are so exspensive. Also i wanted to know what good to tune the computer with...such as hypertech, superchips etc. Any suggestions thanks

One suggestion with the LM + headers...installed a magnaflow round muffler on there, not a resonator a round muffler..i get compliments everywhere I go.

if you plan on getting headers..just keep stock exhaust it sounds great.
if you just want a cat-back get magnaflow..sounds really deep and mean

    Magnaflow.

DO NOT GET A HANDHELD TUNER!!
Waste of money. They lean you out and add rediculous timing...which is dangerous.
If you really need a tune (which you don't with a cat-back), get a dyno tune with software like HPTuner, EFILive, or LS1Edit.

    Exhaust

I had a 99 Z28 with SLP headers and Loudmouth I. Originally I put the headers on with the flowmaster exhaust. It sounded better but not mean or too aggressive. I then added the loudmouth exhaust and was instantly gratified. It was loud and sounded awesome. I even had a guy in a mustang pull up beside me and throw a few compliments about the sound. It's an all around noise maker and sounds like pure muscle.

I now have a 99 TA and have American Racing Headers with cats (a bit of an easier install yet more expensive than SLP) with the SLP loudmouth II. The loudmouth II is a bit more tame with an awesomely aggressive sound around 2300RPM. At lower RPM and cruise there is less noise than with the loudmouth I. The best part is that the system can be changed out easily and within minutes if you choose to run either resonator.

The system is modular so you can swap out the resonators and take the cats out and run a straight pipe piece. What a difference and pretty simple to do.

    Rasp

I would agree that the loudmouth I is raspy, but the same is not true for the loudmouth II. Plus it all depends if you are running with cats or not. The cats help lower the raspy sound if that is a problem. The bad part is that when I think of raspy, an import comes to mind with those silly exhausts... the rasp of an LS1 on loudmouth is not the same as that!
