    fuel rail removal

    im wanting to remove the fuel rails/coil packs so i can clean my engine up some from misc. road debris and oil stuff/just plain ole' dirty. any help with this? do i need to bleed pressure?

    Yes use a flat screwdriver on the driver side schraeder valve (front of the rail w/ screw cap) to bleed pressure off into a shop rag and you are good to go.

    just open the green cap on the end and if you have a shreader valve use that to release it. just make sure the batt is unplugged and key is of so the pump doesnt try and prime the system

    As stated before just relieve pressure on the BLACK cap on the end of the fuel rail. The green cap is for the EVAP system.

    You need a fuel line disconnect tool to undo the rail and there are a few bolts that hold the rest down. All really easy.

    Depending on what you are wanting to clean, you really don't even need the fuel rail disconnect tool. Once you unbolt the fuel rail, you can just swing it out of your way to do your cleaning.

    A full set that works on GM ford and mopar stuff is 14.99 and made outta billet metal at the OTTERZONE.

    I hate ford fuel filter... .. but I think y2k might know why...

    Can for sure just swing it out of the way. I have changed intakes without removing the fuel rail. You can swing it way out.
