Fuel and coolant question. PLEASE help.
I just got done with cam, heads, hardened parts, etc...Got the engine in the car and realized i need a coolant sensor. The weird thing is, it takes a 3 wire plug instead of 2. Also, car is getting no fuel to the rails and we checked every possible plug and fuse possible. I didn't know if the coolant sensor regulated anything with the fuel...OR is there a fuel pump reset button anywhere?

Yeah, the '98's have a three prong ECT sensor. Has nothing to do with no fuel pressure though - can you hear the pump try to prime at all just turning the key on? My first thought is try to reset the PCM manually if you don't have any codes, but sounds like something else might be going on - loose ground somewhere, etc?

We cant hear the fuel pump priming. We checked the fuel pressure by pushing in the fuel pressure test port and NO fuel comes out. We have checked absolutely every plug and fuse..NOTHING. Like I said, my car has been down for 2 months becuase we built it up. There wasn't an issue with the pump when it blew up 2 months ago. Could the 222/224 cam have an impact. The motor will turn but not start.

did you check the fuel pump relay? Get under the rear on the drivers side and probe the plug to make sure you're getting 12 volts to the pump, it's the connector attached to the rear firewall. Here's a link to the schematic. It's a big pic so I didn't wanna slow the page load down for everyone. The grey wire is your hot back there and the black is ground.

we checked everything. Relay, fuses, everything is connected. Another guy said it coulda been a power surge to the ecm. IDK about that, but i think its computer related since the whole engine has been revamped and the wire harness was disconnected. I guess i'm gonna have to check the pump itself to see if it died, but i will be amazed if it did. It was fine when the engine crapped.

well, first check to see if you have power at the plug back there then I'll dig up the pin locations at the pcm. I forget what they are right off hand but I have them here somewhere.

Fuel pump shut off?
I'm new to LS1 cars, but is it possible that it's the emergency fuel pump shut off switch? I know many cars have this where it shuts off fuel in the event of a crash. Maybe it shut itself off when the line was disconected??? Just a thought for a guy who doesn't know a whole lot.
