    Few questions about cut outs.

I have never done a cut out before so I am alittle confused here. My current setup is LT headers, TSP Catted Y, and a 40 series muffler with the stock ws6 piping.

    1. If I decided to do heads/cam will having the stock piping restrict me any?
    2. How loud will this setup be? Too loud to drive on the road?
    3. How exactly is a cut out installed? I see most guys put then in the (I) pipe correct?

    Thanks for any input.

if you upgrade to heads and cam i would upgrade the stock piping to 3'' ...... with the cutouts yes it will be VERY loud.....but with the cutouts shut and lets say magnaflow exhaust it will sound nice.....the cutout can be placed in a few diff. spots

well, a 3" exhaust certainly wouldn't hurt you any but it's not like you're leaving a ton of HP on the table. The cats will be more restrictive than the stock piping on the catback. I'm assuming you're talking about how loud your current set up will be after the cam? It'll definitely be streetable and not real loud. I run no cats with heads/cam through a flowmaster and it's not super loud. 99% of the people out there will put that cutout in the I right under the passenger rear seat. A bonus to that location is the grommet directly above it so you can run wiring to an e-cutout. Open that cutout with no cats and heads/cam and it gets very very loud.....ticket kinda loud. With your cats I'm sure it'll still be pretty loud opened up but those cats will help a lot.

Kooks LT's and a catted Y here. I drive my car around town and on the highway with the cutout wide open and it is not a problem, nor is it annoying. The cats really mellow it down.

Well I cannot do heads/cam due to school budget..

I know the term loud is subjective.

To me loud is LM1 and LT's. Is that what LT's with a cut out would be comparable to?
