    FAST 92 intake install questions

Few questions about the intake install. FAST 92.

How does the MAP sensor get locked in on the new intake? The old LS1 has a plastic locking tab the goes on top of the MAP sensor that holds in down and in place. There is no tab on the 92. Anybody know?

Also, I broke the damn fuel line tab thinking I didnt HAVE to use the special tool to take it off. Anybody know the part number to this? Gonna have to go to Pontiac and get a new one. SHIT.

    Thanks

Did anybody have problems with the wires on top of the valley cover getting in the way. There is almost zero room for anything between the valley and the manifold. I have heard tape them down.

ANyone with some experience chime in with thier tips and tricks?

the map sensor just pushes in and stays there because of the rubber gasket
and I put the intake on then put the map sensor in, then put the fuel rails on.
it was easier to torque the manifold bolts.
the Knock sensors wires under the intake were not a problem
yes you should have used a 3/8 fuel line quick disconnect tool, I dont know a part number for that.

Thanks Barry. I had some deeper issues than the usual.

I had to grind all ten of my valley cover bolts down for my intake to sit flat. I put some anti seize on top of them and installed intake.... there was a perfect circle of anti seize marking spots. I called FAST and they immediately knew of my problem.... just never bothered to write it on the directions or ever speak of it because it doesn't happen to everyone.

I took many pictures, maybe soon I will do a full write up with every possible problem that could occur. Because obviously there is only ONE single person on this entire site that has ever installed a FAST system. I cant believe that.

    Thanks Barry.

did you use the valley cover bolts that they sent with the manifold?
I didnt have any issue with them.
I did have to bend the coolant cross over pipe down a little

I bent that crossover pipe down slightly. The bolts had the same head height as my current bolts. Maybe slightly more.

Right now, I dont car... The car runs SO STRONG.

I met a guy last night with a 96 Cobra with Mickey T's Bias PLY Drag slicks and skinney's up front. ( Street Legal?) Said something about a tubular set up and a shit load of suspension. Showed me Consistent time slips of 12.17 after 12.17 at the track. We raced 6 times and every time I pulled on him at least 3/4 of a car. Im wondering if the car has VERY high 11's in it.
