    Exhaust Questions?????

I'm new to this site and this is my first post....I got a 2000 Ram Air last summer off a car collector, right before I bought it the guy put an 80 series flowmaster muffler on it....It sounds good, but I seen on here that flowmaster is the worst exhaust that u can put on an Ls1....Anyone know why this is????.....But anyway next spring I'm gonna get a Borla cat-back adj, I love the way it sounds and I hear it flows very well and adds some nice HP, but I really don't care too much for the tips...If I was to cut just the tips off leaving the pipes and adj plate part and put on 4" slash tips would it make a big differance in the sound or performance?....Has anyone done anything like this before?

The flowmaster exhaust doesnt flow well for our cars, thats why most ls1 owners stay away.
As far as chopping on the exhaust, It wouldnt do anything for sound or performance gains, I would not reccomend chopping on an 800 dollar exhaust. Borla offers a few different styles of tips, just find the ones you like and go from there.

$800 was a bit too pricey for me too. Go to www.performancepeddler.com and check out the Magnaflow stainless catback. $350 delivered. Bolt on yourself in about an hour, nice HP gains, and sweeeeeeeet sound.

I just put the Magnaflow Stainless Steel Cat-back on and i LOVE the sound!!

Very deep and smooth with a little rumble to it.

Its not too loud but not quite either. ( i have stock y-pipe and manifolds)

    The tips look Great too!

Borla is great, but i'd suggest B&B over all of them, especially since your considering spending that kind of dough
