exhaust leak...I think
I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in New Orleans he told me after getting his Diablo tuner and in the process of removing the cats, the muff shop told him he had a leak at the flange before the cat. My car is a 2001 SS with one change to the exhaust, a Flowmaster muffler. I started my car with the driver side door open on Christmas Eve and I think I hear my car with a leak. I wish the programmers/tuners were not so expensive, I'd get some BBK long tube headers and have the cats removed.

If you slap on lt's and ory you dont need a tune. If you think there is a leak, get the car in the air and start it up and feel around too see if you can tell where its leakin from if anywhere. also take a looka round for black soot. thats normaly a good indicator.
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

Thanks guys. Happy New Year! If the ory is going to replace the cats, how do I take care of the SES light? The car will throw a code right?

Two ways i know of through this forum either use O2 sims or get the codes edited out of the computer. Any one else care to elaborate?

I have called Summit Racing and Jegs, neither sell the O2sims anymore. Do you know where I could get the sims from? How much should I be looking to spend on getting the code edited out?

I have priced the Diablo at www.summitracing.com and it is almost $400. I am wondering if this would be a good investment.

the diablo is a great tuner and is worth the money. even if you have your car dyno tuned in the future you can use the diablo to store different tunes. Lets say you run nitrous then you may want two different tunes and then you can just flash it at the track and be good to go.
