Exhaust Help Please... And other stuff..
Hey Guys! I'm new here as a memeber but have followed many a threads advice when working on my TA. I need some advice about headers.. I currently am running stock from the Y-Pipe to the engine and have a Magnaflow 3" system as a catback. I want to add aftermarket headers, racing cats, and y-pipe. Which is best for fit, sound and durability? I live in Virginina so we don't have e-check but i'd like to keep the factory O2 sensor hook-ups and what not. I'm thinking of a an SLP system I found on the net that contains the complete bolt on assembly for $1295.00. Can I do better?
Lastly, anyone have their power antenna go out? My motor sounds like it's working but somehow won't move the attena up/down? Thanks a TON guys!

DO not go with SLP LTH's,
and honestly, do a search, as you will find way more info than you will in this thread.

Yepp, the search button is your friend, stay away from Slp's lt. They hang way too low and are over priced. Look into pacesetter's great price and fitment.

Black- 2000 WS6 6spd Hooker LT
My Hooker ceramics have had no problem, but like said above do a search and decide what is best for you. I asked this question on my first month on this forum, everyone steered me away from the SLPs and I am glad I took the advice.

The jet hot y pipe I've been looking at comes with cats, but also quick interchangeable off road also. Figured that'd be good for that one time a year.

Thanks guys.. I'll look into the search. What setup do you all like as far as sound quality without going as far as having a mind numbing drone on the highway? Anyone know about the power antenna thing?

yeah the slp tuned headers hang mad low. the new LT's that they have may have solved some of these issues. personally though i think my loudmouth with the slp headers sounds pretty sweet

My antenna broke like that also after one day where there was some excessive speeding. I think the wind beating on that extremely high antenna broke the little clip that helps the motor drive it up and down. My motor still kicks on and off everytime I start my car, but I've pushed the antenna down so that it's only about 5 inches above my spoiler.
I think it looks allot cleaner and will probably never fix it. Also, no change in radio quality.

Headers!
Considering your up north, I'd say it should be stainless steel. Don't go cheap with the regular steel. Other than that it depends on what your willing to spend. QTP, Kooks, American Racing and Dynatech make great headers all stainless.
Also, if this is for a daily driver car, I'd get high flow cats. Not usually worth the risk of being caught without them.FAST 90/90, SLP Lid, Kooks JetHot Coated LT's, American Racing Y-Pipe+Magnaflow Cats, DHM Electric Cutout, Flowmaster American Thunder Catback, HP Tuners Software, 343 rwhp.

Yah I have a lid and did the cold air intake mod. Can anyone tell me the gains of putting in a 160 degree thermostat in. What about gains from the TB bypass? Thanks..
