I had a buddies car that leaked pretty bad after the instail but its because he used the cheapo u bolts first, and then tried using some band clamps, i picked up some exhaust tape and just over laped the seams. Problem solved.

Summit has some really nice stainless ones with the "dead" material lining for like $10 a pop. They really helped seal at my collectors.

All the auto chains carry them. Some come with a step built in for the overlapping pipes, and others are completely flat accross and form themselves to the overlapping pipes as you tighten them.
They are all I use when welding is not an option. Stay away from the crush clamps. They ruin the pipes. You need the band clamps to make future removal easy.

Here they have any kind of band clamp you need.
If you are looking to be able to take the joint apart, use a stepped band clamp. It is not so permanent. If your joining pipe has a split in it, use a 1" wide band clamp as it will seal better and always remember to put anti-sieze on the pipe.
