    Exhaust???

I am looking to get some exhaust on my 2002 WS6, do you reccommend a cat back system or a Muffler back. Is there is big advantage to the cat back system vs the muffler only. I have been told not to get flowmaster...any pref. on brands or what seems to flow better and sound nice?

Depends on what sound your looking for.
Personaly i like it loud so i went with a mangnaflow catback with a 3 inch cutout in the i pipe that i wont ever close.
Check out ls1sounds.com for some clips of diff setups.
In my opinion there isnt much of a difference between a catback and just a muffler. The catback will come with new exhaust tubing from Y, back. Depending on your budget and how picky you are, It will normaly come with SS tubing.
I would reccomend staying away from slowmaster. Doesnt flow well for our cars. I mean it sounds good but the power output isnt so great.

Muffler back is the budget way to go. You will not notice a difference in sound or performance.

cat-back, if you're gonna spend the moeny, do it right by only having to do it once...

you can (even w/no mechanical skills what-so-ever) install a catback by yourself...

also, go to www.ls1sounds.com, and figure out what you like...

I like the sound of my Borla catbacks. I want to put a set of LT's on ) leaning towards Hooker) but in Mayland we have emissions inspection and I have to keep a CAT so I guess it will be custom from the headers to the Borla system

Have any of you all done a muff back? It is so easy, and costs less!
Now, if you were installing LTH's and a y-pipe, then, YES, go with a cat-back.

how much work would it be to replace a stock exhaust system with an aftermarket set of LT's, ORY, and cat-back exhaust... I'm wondering cause I've always just expected to get a shop to do it... but if its doable... I might save myself the cash...

I was under the impression that if you just get the complete setup like the LT's the ORY, and a catback system that they all just bolt and clamp together, no welding required... false? if so where is the welding?
