    Engine Removal Question

I am in the process of pulling the motor out of a 2000 Camaro.
I am going to take it out of the top of the car.
Does anybody have any experience doing this?
What did you take off before pulling the motor? What accesories were removed?, intake manifold? etc?
What other things should I watch out for when pulling it out?

I just did mine. Not sure I can remember everything.

Bag & tag all the bolts.
Take off the accessories, the intake, and radiator.
You can leave the heads on.
Make sure you get all the grounds. There are some on the back of the heads and one on each side of the block.

Coming out the top you need to remove all accessories.
Coming out the bottom you don't.

Just take your time. Be careful. Mine came out fairly easily. Of course...mine came out the bottom.

Is there a "how-to" posted somewhere on the net as to how to remove the engine from the bottom? Seeing the how-to's posted over on LS1HowTo.com, it seems like it would be sooooo much easier for a head and cam swap to do it on a removed engine as opposed to fumbling with all that crap in a cramped and crowded engine bay!
