I just ordered 2 for my 2000 SS. Ive heard mixed stories. One of the top GM tuners in the country told me that the Qtecs are junk, and from what I read, that seems to be common. The ones are ordered are being specially built by DMHperformance. They have a much stronger more reliable motor. He also has a new design that doesn't interfere with ground clearence of the vehicle. Thats very important for cutouts if you are lowered and have some long tubes. If you have any more questions Ill be glad to answer. Ill let you know how mine turn out. Ill have them in another week or so.

I dont have true duals. Im running stainless works long tubes, high flow cats, that go into a 3" Y-pipe. The cutouts are going right after my O2 sensors (i only have 2 now) before the I section of the Y-pipe. they will be facing 45 degrees outward and backwards.

no wrong, i dont have true duals either and dont want them, the 1 cutout goes after the y pipe, you will see a straight piece with a elbow, thats the pipe you splice and right near there is a hole with a rubber gromet is where you run the lines for the toggle switch, its bad ass that way, the right way to do a f body, gmmg does all his that way , and when you mount it it will be horizontal not facing downward, i know from experience abby

So i should cancel one of the cutouts, and only install one? The way these cutouts are designed i cut a hole right into the pipe thats a 3 1/2" oval shape. then the cutout is oval shaped as well. Its not a little 'Y' shape like the Q-tecs . I bolt it on, then weld it. If I just put one on...it would be facing straight down. I already have a borla with no plates and want something with ALOT more noise for fun. will the way you mentioned make it alot louder?

hell yes when you open it its sounds like nascar. if i not mistaking, there was a install on that, i dont know which issue, but yes 1 cutout, i found out , puting the toggle switch in the ash tray, works good for me ,i dont smoke, just drill a hole in the bottom, its pretty cool, when installed if your like me ,i have mine open most of the time, sweet with that big cam thump. the unit should be horizontal after you bolt it on the flange, if its angled down rotate the whole unit up. good luck, you will love it new toy thanks guys abby

dont get Qtec, they are junk. Get DMH performance cutouts, they are on several sites and were featured on Musclecar on Spike TV. I know the guy personally and he does great work here in Cincy. On that note, I have 2 on my car and couldnt be happier. I have a lowered car and smashed one on the ground, dam thing still works. Warrenty service is great as well.

you do not need a pic, there is a spot under the passenger seat that pretty much looks like it was made for a cutout. It is right by the grommet under the rear seats to run the wires up there as well.

Hey JMHVENOM.. youre right man, Dave does great work. I just got mine in the mail this week. they look really solid. Ive got a question for you. I have 2 cutouts as well, and am going to put one on each side of the 'Y' section of the Y pipe (right after it bends, before it turns into one pipe). Is that where you put yours at? and did it hurt your performance at all due to lack of backpressure?
