Remember an electric w/p has a limit on its life. It being electric. If you have a daily driver this mod is not recommended.

According to that article it only gained 4hp....not sure that's really worth the $600+ price tag.

I've used them on my race car but it only ran every other week, and the racing season is pretty short here, maybe 5-6 months out of the year.

I believe that is what they were originally designed for anyway,,,,and at some point they have trickled down to the street scene.

I personally wouldn't run one on a street car,,,their life cycle is usually around 500-600 hours or so,,,,that goes by pretty quick on a daily driven street car. A weekend toy wouldn't be bad.

There are people that use them and like them. Buddy of mine runs one on his daily driver,,,,but after 1 1/2 years it already needed replacement,,,,kinda expensive to replace every couple years if you ask me.

I prefer stock belt driven water pumps, You get many many years, (sometimes 20 or more) out of them,,,they are cheap,,,,and they give you warning signs when it's time,,,and can still get you home as well. Something an electric water pump may or may not do.

It's up to the individual. Hope that helps.
