There isn't really any power gains. Just cleans up the engine compartment.
If you remove it, you have to tune it out.

If you want to ditch EGR you remove the solenoid, and the pipe underneath it that runs to the exhaust manifolds. You'll need a plate to cover the whole in the manifold, and a plug for the intake manifold (or he can just buy the LS6 manifold).

The main reason in my opinoin to get rid of the EGR valve is because to upgrade the intake manifold to a ZO6 intake. If your going to do the mod get the ZO6 intake. The biggest pain about this mod is that youll have to get your computer reprogrammed so your check engine light doesnt stay on but im all for this mod!

I did this when I did my headers. I put a freeze plug in the intake and I had to have it deleted. Which didn't matter casue I did headers and cam. Haven't run a cross a good deal on a LS6 intake yet.

Will this cause you to fail any emissions test, or will they not notice it after you delete it from the computer?

if he's gonna take out the egr crap he might as well do the air system crap as well... i think there is someone on here or ls1tech that sells a kit that includes all the caps and "plugs" you need to do this.
