Easiest way to build an x pipe?

Im going to be buying some piping and building an x pipe system with 2 dynomax bullet mufflers. Im going to build it over the axle and all the way to the rear, at first i will not have the mufflers but just straight piping... Does anyone have an experience with building their own x pipes from scratch? And have any tips on this?

pypes advertises that with a little bit of extra pipe you can make their kit fit too.

right now i have the pacsetter headers and oryp and i have a hooker cat back... I am thinking of building my own X pipe and rest of the piping and throwing some dynomax bullets in there... How does it differ from your y pipe? I dont want universal kits im doing everything from scratch.

I got a sawzall and cut the tsp pipe where the two Go into the collector and put my x pipe there and welded it up them took two 18 in dynomax bullets 4in round and welded them to the x pipe with turndowns right before the axle. I used one rubber mounted hanger between the two bullets and welded it to the mufflers and used the rear seat bracket to hold the bracket to the car on the pass side. the x pipe and bullets are 3in in size. Its a cheap easy way fo having mandrel bent true duals that clear nicely. Mine exhaust is just to the pass side of the driveshaft and torque arm and about 1in from the floor pan. I would send pics but dont have a way to.

You'll find that most recommend long tubes for LS1 cars.
