Ease of install LT's or Mid's
Which is the easiest to install? With the stock cat fit with either of these and an off road Y?

The stock cats won't fit either mid-length or LT headers. Some shorty headers may fit the stock catted y-pipe, but you will see little performance gain compared to either LT or mids.

they are all a pain in the butt. with your stock cats dont wast your time and cash on shortys the stock mf are better. with a y pipe go for the long tubes.

Don't buy headers based on install time/ease. Buy LTs and don't look back.
To answer your question, they are probably about the same time.

Don't think the Macs will be easier cause they're physically smaller, they're a pain in the ass too.

+1 agree...
For the OP
Install times will always vary depending on your skill level, your workshop/garage, and tools available. You have to do the same work for Short, Mids and LTs so it really doesn't matter. IMHO LT's with an ORY can be faster if you cut CATS and OEM Y-pipe off. Headers will always be a PITA to install. I highly recommend having one other body besides yourself. There are some great stickies that can give you pointers and are great guides.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 01-21-2010 at 07:34 AM.

I'm not one to lower my car. However i have a couple buddies who have theirs lowered and they have no issues with bumps railroads etc with kooks. The slps scrape like a mo fo. Hope that helped.

I've installed both MAC mids and Hooker LTs. The MACs were slightly easier, but not much. Both will make good power, with the LTs having an edge even if the MACs have the "collector mod" done. Both sets worked great for me and I would recommend either one...
2000 Z28 382/nitrous...sold and missed.
2004 Z06 CE Z16...still looks stock.
