    Question Dynatech Headers

I am looking around for a header system like the FLP set up (if anyone knows what they are). I’ve been on Dynatechs website and didn’t get all the information I was looking for. So, I called these people up and asked a few questions and still didn’t get all the information needed. I was wondering if ANYONE knows if the Dynatech F-Body Headers are ceramic coated ? ? ? ? ? How hard it is to change out the CAT and off road pipe? And, what all comes with this 'system'? (nuts, bolts, gaskets, o2 simulators ext.)

    Thanks Guys

I have FLPs, but the Dynatech are stainless steel and I am sure you have to pay extra to have them coated. You would need 02 sims or have the rear 02's deleated with a tune. If changing out the cats for the tube is simular to the FLP's(which were made by Dynatech for FLP) it should be simple as removing the bandclamp and replacing it with the one you want to use). What comes in the package is listed below, direct from the dyntatech supermaxx FBody header manual.
    Only shows in stainless steel

    Drivers side header(1)
    Passenger side header(1)
    PowerCat catalytic converters(2)
    driver side exhaust tube(1)
    Pass side exhaust tube(1)
    Y pipe assembly(1)
    2 1/2 inch stainless steel bandclamps(4)
    Gasket skin card(1)
OEM style stainless steel header gaskets(2)
    header bolts(12)
    air tube gasket(2)
    egr tube gasket(1)
    Donut Gasket skin card(1)
    3" Donut gaskets(2)
Allen head bolt and nut assembly(8)
    02 sensor extensions(2)
    Tie-wraps(4)

So your saying I can have the headers coated from the factory? or would i have to do that somewhere else? I really want some like the FLP, that is what my bro has on his 01 WS6, but as you know they don’t make them any more . Is the Dynatech Headers 'System' the closest to the FLP?

I bought my FLP's used for $500 for the complete setup and they are a great header. Dynatech was the manufacturer for FLP(Finish Line Performace), Dynatech made the FLP's to FLP's specs. I have heard they are almost identical. If I was going to get a new set, Dynatech are what I would get. The FLP headers are not stainless steel, dynatech is. You don't even need the dynatech headers coated. The FLP are steel and will rust, but they are very well made. My FLP's came off a 02 T/A with use since 02 and I bought them in 05 and they still had a near perfect coating. I sanded a couple little spots and used 3000 degree ceramic paint. I did see a place selling mild steel dynatech LT system awhile back or around new $700 complete setup, but they no longer make them in mild steel. Stainless is the best header to get and will last. You can look at local coating companies in your area if you want them coated, but is not needed. The Grotty design (QTP, Kooks, PPC or FLP) are considered the best LT's, for some reason you don't see dynatech mentioned much, but I think they are based off the same design.

Do you have to use their y pipe with the cats or can you buy any off road pipe or have one made?

Installed the Supermaxx on my '02 last week. Fit was excellent, no bangs or rattles to date. Kit comes with everything needed except a clamp for the y pipe to catback connection. Mine was $1320 delivered which is less than any of the other stainless systems once you buy all of the install pieces needed.
