LM2s have a preferated ceramic plate/tube thing in them. They have less rasp on an LS1 motor than the LM1 does. It is considerably quieter at highway speed and wont drive you out of your mind on long trips.

LM2 sounds just slighty worse than the LM1 with longtubes.

i have LM2 with long tubes, it sounds ok. its loud enough with a good rumble. It does have a funny rasp at high rpm shifts. but what ever you go with it wont have the glorious sound of a honda with full exhaust...just kidding.

Black 99 Z71- Red 01 Z28 M6
I have the LM1 and for just being a catback, its sounds excellent. Im kinda scared to put an o/r y pipe or headers and o/r y pipe on it though because of what I've heard about it getting really loud and raspy. I love the way it sounds now though! I used to have a 99 mustang gt and had an o/r x pipe with 3 chamber flowmasters and it was really raspy and I didnt like it at all. Dont want that again!

LM1 is a great sounding exhaust when you still have cats. ORY and headers make it sound like absolute ass. I had it on my last TA with stock manifolds and an ORY and it was horrible. Now on my Formula I have longtubes, ORY and LM2 and it sounds pretty good IMO. I drive 100 highway miles 5 days a week and it's very bearable for highway trips. Here is a video of my car with the LM2. Although if i could do it again I probably would have gotten the Hooker exhaust.
