As soon as retirement comes around... I'm outta here

Or, I win the lottery. Which ever comes first

Should have sold this house a few years ago when it was worth a ridiculous amount.

As for gains...not every car gains power from an open cutout. I have an SLP dual/dual mufflered catback on my mid 11 second NA car. With the cutout open, it sounds GREAT IMO, but I gained nothing at the dragstrip as far as better ET or higher MPH. I was a bit disappointed, but leave it open at the track for nothing other than the sound, lol. I'll blip the button and crack it open sometimes just for kicks around town as well, but mine is solely an audio mod and not a performance one. Still have no regrets. Just wanted to share my results.
I'll vouch for that. I have found the same results with a dual cutout setup on my chevelle, pushing 638 hp through a 3 inch setup with Dr. Gas X-pipe and super 40's,,,,the car runs exactly the same with the cutouts open or closed. Even the AFR on the wideband only changes a tenth. I'm willing to bet that with this car,,,,a chassis dyno will show nothing in gains with cutouts open.

I have dual cutouts on other cars where the gains are marginal. One in particular were drastic changes so much so that the car developed a lean pop all the way down track.

From what I have found it really depends on how effecient the current exhaust system is on the car. If it's working well the cutouts just don't seem to yield much. But they sound great

I have a female friend who has a 02 SS. I have true duals dumped at the axel. She said she loved the sound of my car. So she wanted a cutout and I sold her one I had laying around. She let me drive her car to my prefered exhaust welder. It didnt take him long at all and sounded good when done. I then took it back to her place. She stated she could her me coming. I got a million thank you's, hugs etc.. She tends to leave it uncorked.

Yep... that's what I'm gonna do. Would love to have true duals, but don't think it's gonna happen living out here in 'Law Land'.

But, if I get some bonehead who wants to do a visual during smog inspection, will it matter that they are there??

Good question that I do not have an answer for you. We do not have inspections here. But I would think as long as it is capped there is nothing they could say. But may be way off on that.

    Hey Tom,

Should I get one or two. I'm thinking two. But... if I get just one. Where should I put it. I have flowmaster catbacks.
