    Cutouts Vs. Duals

    Alright....

Seriously considering this option right now.
I have true duals that are non-mandral bent through magnaflow mufflers. High powered N/A 402ci. Makes 523 RWHP through that current exhaust and a 9".
    Anyways...I know there is more.

My biggest problem is that the duals fit so tightly through the torque arm bracket that it bangs at idle. Sometimes pretty bad. Cam is a little big so the exhaust rocks with the lope.

This is what I am considering...
Running duals 3" cutouts about 12" off each collector, then running a single 3" pipe to that back through the same mufflers.
Not really concerned with HP numbers on the dyno...but I am concerned about track numbers.

    Discuss please!!!!

There is only about 1/4-1/2" clearance on any side of the pipe which had to be crushed to fit.

    Okay. Sweet thunder.

No duals will properly fit through my torque arm brace.

The cutouts with a single Y-pipe will give you good street setup and track versatility.

I agree, I think a single exhaust with cutouts not too far from the headers would be a good choice. I think it would be fine for the street and on the track with the cutouts, I don't think you would notice a difference. may actually pick up a tenth or two. But you want to remember that some cars require a little bit of back pressure and if you have cutouts that close to the headers might actually hurt performance.

I think the Flowmaster 10 series is the loudest from what I've heard, single chamber straight through exhaust, after that you might as well just run a straight pipe.
