Cutout or Underdrive Pulley?

I just sold my swaybar....

First time I ever failed on an install. Now, however, I had a little $$$ I was saving up and I have about $210 in my paypal account. I can get an electric cutout for $175 shipped off Ebay or I can get a UD pulley. The cutout's worth more HP but I wanted to see what you guys thought I should do!

yeah man, i'd get a cutout...more power than a pulley and sounds badass too. oh and thx for the sway bar...

You will get more out of the cut out when its open... but the power you will make off the pulley will always be there, and you dont have to open it.

I gained 7 rwhp from an UD pulley on thursday, food for thought. Doubt you'll see anything from a cutout except couple ft-lbs of torque.

Wasn't aware you were running a stock exhaust. 20 though? I think you're dreaming. UD pulley is where I place my vote.

some guys say 25-35. i do have the ws6 catback so i'll compromise and say 15 but it is still double the underdrive... and without the loss of power for steering and ac and alternator..

The only time I have any loss of power from the UD pulley is when its below 600-700 rpm, and then I have to have my dim lights on, fog lights on, a/c on, stereo up and turn signal on and at a stop. Thats with a A4,if its a manual he shouldnt have any problems at all. SLP Underdrive pulley.

Do any of you UD Pulley guys drive decent distances daily or run a stereo with amps? Through past discussion, I have heard with either of the above or even your AC on, causes your fans to run constantly or other symptoms.

No power from a cut-out? Huh? I've always seen atleast 10 ponies from a cut-out on cars with cat-backs, and in some cases closer to 20rwhp. As far as pulleys it's been dissapointment. A few ponies - if any at all, is the norm.

mine is my daily driver, never had any problems with it., no amp, I do have an electric water pump tho.

My car a 100% a DD in FL heat with an underdrive. I have no overheating problems what so ever. I also run a small stereo system (2 8's in the sail panel with a amp) No charging problems either. With a full load ac, blower fan on high, lights, stereo, engine fans at idle it just drops below 13volts at idle once I hit about 900rpms it right back up above 13 volts. IMO those that have overheating problems with underdrive pullies have a dieing cooling system. I run in well over 100 degree weather in bumper to bumper traffic and stay right at 200.

As for the thread I vote get a chepo manual $30 cutout and get a underdrive. So who hear as an electric cutout that has not leaked on them? I'm not talking having it for 2 months and opening it twice, more like a couple years with hundreds of opening and closings. Anyone? I'm kinda curious cause I hear alot about them not leaking but everyone seems to recomend them but I have a feeling the people that recomend them don't actually own them. I run my cut out open 98% of the time but it would be nice to flip a switch and close it when I hit the highway. Sorry if im hijacking but it may help the thread starter as well.
