    Cut out question

hey on electronic cutouts, when you open them up so the exhaust goes out to the side of the cutout, does it block the exhaust from going back to the muffler?? because i was considering having the cutout pointed towards the side of the car w/a bullet muffler....my magnaflow is too quiet MOST of the time...i just dont want to be running just a loudass bullet or open I pipe all the time on long trips.

When I'm going on a long trip, I just close my cut-out. I would never add a muffler to my cut-out.

to answer your question, no when the cutout is open, it doesn not block off the original route thru your exhaust. it would not need to, the majority of your exhaust is going to come out the easiest and quickest point, wich would be the open cutout. some of it might still tricle thru your exhaust but thats pretty much a moot point.

you want to actually have like two different exaust setups, didnt the 3000gt's or 300zx used to have an option like that?? honestly i don't htink it would be worth the cost and it would probably negate any ground clearance you had . i think the e-cutout is aluminum isn't it? i'm not sure you could weld onto that anyways.

like a previous guy said, you can just open it part way to get a better sound.
