    Christmas goodies

Been collecting parts for a while now, but Santa brought me the last few ingredients! Full Stainless headers (ebay headers), Texas Speed Y pipe, LS6 Intake and all the parts needed to install it. Since my car is an 00, it has a larger cam than the later years, so the intake and headers should add at least a few ponies. Getting it tuned in Jan, and hitting the Dyno at the end of the month. The Fuel rail covers are a work in progress and are only there for show. I'm painting them Blue like the car, with some bird droppings on them. LOL!

I'm pretty sure that the 01 and 02 cars that came with the LS6 intake had a smaller cam to detune the engine back to the 98-00 specs. I don't have the numbers handy though.

^^^ correct, 98-00 had slightly bigger cam. In the 01-02, the cam was lil smaller because of the EGR delete. They found with smaller cam they could pass emissions without EGR need.

they stopped making the ls1 intake also so th ls6 was used and cam was switched to a smaller one to keep th output similar to previous years. the emissions situation wouldnt surprise me though. but i think it was more of a marketing ploy to keep the f-bodies similar. because it doesnt say on any adds that the ls6 intake is abetter unit nor does it say it bumps the under the curve power up a bit.

long tubes are no good in cali. they move the cats farther from the engine which is illegal in almost all states but it seems only a few states use that law.

I posted some of these in some other threads on here, but for consolidation's sake, here's some eye candy. Check out the ebay option thread for honest answers on the headers.

Agree'd! just do your self a favor, remove or suport the EGR BEFORE you install them, and check the O2 Sensor bung on the pass side, I'm going to have to relocate mine, while it's on the car. Not fun without a lift, or a SS welder.

Funny you mention that, I had a cracked EGR valve when I got mine.....tacked it up w/ a tig welder & all is fine.
