    Cheap way out

So, planning on replacing my catback with summer with something more aggressive. Anyways, I have pacesetter LT's and a catted Y. I was going to go with LM2 catback, but after thinking about it, I might just cut off the catback and stick a bullet muffler directly on the y-pipe, then a turn-down off the muffler. I know a few have done this, but it sounds kind of 'hoosier-ish' and cheap. But I like the idea. Opinions, pros, cons? Thanks.

Not raspy like lm catbacks either

TSP Rumbler, LT's, TSP Tqr2, PRC 921 Springs, Comp Lifters, Chromoly 7.4" Pushrods, Titanium Retainers/Seats/Seals, ARP head bolts, BMR full Rear suspension

Well, I don't think I would use the LM bullet muffler if I just went with a muffler. I think I would chose something else. Its either the LM catback or some other brand bullet muffler. One would be cheaper, but I don't want to be a 'poser' and have one pipe dumped an opposed to true-duals. (I know I could do true-duals, but my muffler shop f-ed up my headers a little...)

So, you have longtubes, a y-pipe, then the SLP bullet muffler right off the y? No catback? I think the SLP muffler is cheaper than all the other ones, but I haven't been looking for muffler's yet. Still about a month away. I just can't decide what I want to do. I think it would be cool to not have exhaust coming out the back, but I don't want to wind up changing my mind and buying the catback anyways. Ahh...decisions, decisions.

Interesting, I might do that, or try it out. The muffler is only $100 or so, then all I would need is a few band clamps and a turn-down. What is the diameter of the ends of the muffler? Aren't they 3 1/4 I.D to accomodate the 3 in exhaust piping?

Oh, I'm not welding my exhaust. But I don't want it to fall off either. I might try it, and if I don't like it, I could just buy the rest of the exhaust, no big deal I guess. If I do get the full catback, I'm thinking of using turn-down tips instead of their slash tips, I think it will look more subtle. But it will sound mean as hell.

i only welded it because its not too hard taken the y pipe off as it sits right now, but it will prolly get clamped if i do over the axel

if u don't want the slash tips let me know
