catted y pipe
Does anyone have a problem with their y pipe hitting the drivers side floor board under hard acceleration? I have the qtp long tubes and the qtp catted y. I was told to have a new y fabed for me but the exhaust shop said for it to flow like it should I would have to get 5 inch pipe and crush it. Any ideas?

Yeah! I have Pacesetter Headers and Y-pipe, I have triied several thing to get rid of the problem and haven't figured out how. A buddy put Poly-motor mounts on and has no bang at all, I'm just to lazy to do it yet. Loosen all the exhaust clampsm and pry down the Y-pipe with a crow bar, stick a small piece of 2x4 between the car and the pipe and drive it around for a little bit let the exhaust cool down retighten the clamps and pull the 2x4 out. It worked temporarily, but hopefully it will work permantley for you.

Maybe I will try the new mounts. I plan on putting in a tubular k member this winter, mainly because the passenger side header is sitting on the stock k. So I will see if that works. What side of Des Moines you on?
