silver- 2000 camaro ss
which catback?
Im used to mustangs. Just bought a 2000 ss. I do not drive the car everyday. I would like to get the deepest sound. I was told not to get Flowmasters? That the only exhaust I ever owned. I heard of GMMG Chambered exhaust. What else is popular and sounds great? Thanks

The SLP loudmouth is, well, really loud. The only other ones that I've really heard close up in person is Corsa and Borla (which I have). The other two are not near as loud as the SLP but doesn't have the drone, if that's a proper word for it. Inside the car with the windows up it's almost too loud or it might be the frequency it's at. Corsa and Borla are more expensive and "cleaner" sounds to me, but then again doesn't have near the "woah" effect SLP has.

I dunno if the 10 series counts but it is a race muffler, straight through, usually used on cars in drag racing classes that simply require a muffler as it doesn't muffle much, I wonder how it would stack up against the others, you don't hear about it much.

GMMG catback is always described as DEEP and "Muscle Car" sounding...I have never heard one in person...
Another deep loud sound is a basic cutout which is VERY deep but a little "raw" sounding...Plus if you don't like it,you can cap it up and be back to stock sound level...
Some good clips here...

Hooker Aerochamber CB
I have the Hooker Aerochamber CB on my 2000Z28. Idle slightly louder (rumble) than stock. Really comes alive with WOT and age on the system. Some people complain they are not stainless and look bad after a few months. I treated mine (pipes) with high temp black prior to installation which matches the black muffer. I live on the South East Coast and only drive 100 miles monthly (average) and have no apearance problems. They are also priced to sell.
2000 Z28 M6, SLP Lid, SLP Bellows, SLP UD,
P&P Maf, TB By-Pass, PS Shorties, LS6 Intake, FAST 78mm TB, Hooker CB, Hurst Billet, Front Tower Brace, small 218/218....527/527....114 cam.

I had SLP LM's on my other Z and liked it. Next spring, I'm getting the LM's again to replace the flowmasters that came with the car. Actually, the flowmasters used to sound really good before the headers, but now its just too quiet. So I'm going with LM's again. Plus, 3" stainless cat-back for that price can't be beat.
