    cat delete...benefits?

Was looking at a dynomax ORY that bolts in place of the cats to the stock manifolds. Is there much benifit to this? Don't want to spend the money on LT's untill I have to pull the motor. Planning on upgrading to a fast intake/tb this spring and wanted to free up the exhaust a bit. Car has magnaflow cat back and slp lid, thats it.

I have the exact mods u do (borla catback instead of magnaflow) and I bolted on a 2.5in slp y pipe hoping to free up some more horses. On the dyno I think I gained about 2-5rwhp.

you might gain a couple more hp by going off-road but imo its no worth it unless your getting headers. unless of course you just want the car louder by running an OR setup

on a stock application..no there is really no benefit..on a long tubed setup the gains are more noticeable.

as you said you will go to LTs ..dont get the ory for the stock manis..as after the swap the y will be useless and you will need to buy another y pipe.

I think louder is always better but if I could pick up 5 horse at the wheels for under $200, I think that is a good deal.

Hard to say, but I could see emissions testing becoming more mainstream and this way I could put the cats back on easy enough. but if you guys think it is a waste then maybe I will just go to LT's.

louder isn't always better ...remember there are two types of loud...dump truck loud/trashy pickups ..and good tone loud/no or little rasp.

IMO, get some better spark plug wires and sub frame connectors, better way to spend $200. I have Taylor 10.4mm race wires and BMR sfc's, the wires improved my response alot! Everyone on here will say if your gonna go for more hp you need sfc's.

as most others will probably tell you if you plan on getting headers just hold off on the ory for now, money better invested somewhere else. If i could go back I would have bought some ebay longtubes for like $175 and a matching Y for like $100
