Can you guys help my friend decide on an exhaust

He has a different taste in exhaust than most people. He pretty much wants the loudest thing out there I guess. I think the kid wants to order kooks lts, ory, and a lm1 and put a cut out in that lol. Wouldnt that be pointless?

If the op's friend uses a no cats in the ory, it'll be open headers

Any long tube setup with dual cutouts on an ory without cats will be loud. I've heard the lm2 is very obnoxious as a catback. A cam will make those open headers even nicer, lol.

Tell him to listen here : http://www.ls1.com/forums/f63/best-h...ips-etc-69090/

IMO the cutout is a waste of money there. He should rethink his strategy and you should talk him out of that set up. Have him get a magnaflow catback or something along those lines and then add a cutout to that. That way he can at least quieten the car down some if cops are nearby. No cats and headers is going to be extremely loud and will definitely fetch him a few tickets. I'm not against loud but he should have a back up plan because there are times when a quiet car comes in handy such as driving by cops or leaving someones house in the middle of the night.

I have Kook's LT's, Kook's 3" ORY and a LM2 set-up. It's pretty aggressive. The by-pass valve on the supercharger is about as loud as the exhaust. So, to summarize, you hear me coming from a mile away.

He just wants it loud all the time lol. He is pretty set on the kooks lts / ory / loudmouth 1 and an ms3 cam. I told him I dont think it can get any louder because the resonator is pretty much an empty can but he seems to think a cut out would help. Maybe in the car since its under the seat lol

Why the extra coin for borla adjustable if it would have a cutout anyways?

I'll agree with everyone else on this one, quieter cat-back and a cutout so you have some control over the noise.

LS6 Intake, LS6 VCT, E^2 Catch Can, Hooker LTs and ORY, Magnaflow Cat-Back, 3" QTP electric cutout, UMI adj LCA, PHB, 3 pt SFCs, STB, MGW Shifter, SLP lid and bellow, Free-Mods, Tuned by BlueCat

Because with the Borla adjustable setup, when the cutout is closed, you can still have a nice sound and tailor the level of loudness to a more tolerable level.

That's true. I've just always been a fan of opening it at the strip and having it tame on the road. I don't see much benefit of having a cutout closed and swapping plates in the cat-back.

Maybe it's just me but I'd much rather open and close an electric cutout to where you want it, than to unbolt the exhaust to change a plate. I guess it would benefit some people to be able to hone their exhaust tone that much but it still seems overkill to me.

Maybe the LM1 sounds a lot different than the LM2. My car sounds far from a dump truck.

With the borla adjustable the electric cutout can be placed where the plates would go, thats the real benefit.

Makes more sense. No hacking into the I pipe to do so. Thanks

I bet his neighbors are glad they paid a lot of money for their houses to live next to a guy that can't afford a muffler. That same guy will at some point be on a board whining about some SOB keyed his car.
