A/C pulley?
Hi all! 98 TA, I'm trying to know the right name and where can i find this. Is the small pulley that supports the A/C belt. The one right underneath the A/c belt tensioner. Is this single pulley the same size as the one in the A/C belt tensioner? Is that the case I can just buy another one and replace it with that. Thanks.

A/c Belt tensioner..
Local parts stores should carry them on hand. About 50 bucks or so..

Yeah local auto parts have the tensioner but they don't sell the other pulley below the tensioner. They said it is a dealer item.

Ohh ok then your talking about the "idler pulley" the one located below the tensioner correct?
Cost is about 20 bucks, your local parts store should have it, i just checked localy and autozone and advance has it in stock...

1993 Mustang Gt(SOLD!)- Searching for LS1 TransAm
62 bucks
I'll have to check again because i used to work at autozone lol. And i could never find it i dont think we carried it.
I just got back from the stealership and they wanted something like 57or62 bucks w/tax...WTF for a pulley?
so meanwhile i'll just look for someone parting one out, or till mine gets really bad bc it just squeaks sometimes.

I had to replace everything when I got my car. It is regreasable and there is a writeup about it here somewhere. You just take it off via a torx 50 and pry out the seal etc etc. BUTTT
They are cheap tho at GM Parts Direct.
I tried ordering the pulley at autozone oreillys and napa and they never could get it right, they keep getting the accessory tensionerLast edited by JoshieDoom; 08-23-2008 at 02:54 PM.
