    Bump Stop Mod Question

I know if I am doing this I should use a scanner to see what percentage the throttle is open to. But, I don't have a scanner. Can I just eye ball it? Or use a Volt meter. . . . .

I would not "eyeball it" if you are wrong the damage cannot be undone and it will send the error code.

It can be undone by threading it, then re adj. back fwd w a screw. Seen it done.

Actually some just shave it, drill , thread it, then adj w the screw to get it nats ass 89.5 degrees. I wouldn't eye ball it btw.

Yes, that is how the TPS is checked for position and to determine if the signal remains linear through its travel. This is a 5 volt signal that is modified by resistance. The closer to the maximum travel the lower the resistance. I'm sure you already know the maximum voltage signal for WOT. BTW, mine was correct without the mod.

    YES YOU CAN!!!!

Make sure the volt meter does not go past 4.6 volts. most cars before the bumpstop mod read 3.3 - 3.9.

4.6 volts is right under 90 degrees open. Anything more will set off a SES light

connect the positive end of the voltmeter to the TPS and the negative end to the negative battery terminal for ground.

Drill a hole in the bump stop, thread it and put a screw towards the plate that opens the butterfly, then you can thread the screw in or out to adjust how far the TB will open.
