Borlamouth
I bought a slp loudmouth about 2 months ago and hated the sound and the drone and knew I wasnt gonna be happy with it. I recently bought a Borla XR1 only to sell it because the muffler shop said it couldnt be done. Well I looked at some pictures and the reason they said it couldnt be done was because the welded the LM resonator in the wrong spot (they welded it to the mid pipe instead of right before the pipe goes over the rear axle and I found where they beat my exhaust with a hammer!). So I bought another Borla XR1 and went to a different place and finally success! I love the way it sounds and no drone!!! It did cost me some more money but I am so much happier with it now. If I had to do it all over again I would probably go the same route cause a Borla catback is $700+ bucks. I have about $450 in this one.

I did the same thing with my old F-bod. That XR-1 is one of the best mufflers out there! Definitely worth $225.

Anyone have sound clips of this? The ones on ls1sounds.com are pretty lousy IMO. I've pretty much tossed my idea for True Duals out the window due to cost and emissions issues.

Dude it sounds so much better. It doesnt have all that drone. I couldnt stand the LM resonator. You should go with the 5" round x 15" long Borla xr1.
Here is a link where I got mine for the best price I could fint and no shipping charge. http://www.performancecenter.com/pro...la&universal=0
You have to mount the Borla right before the exhaust goes over the rear axel.

No-its not a stupid question. All it is -is a slp loudmouth catback with a Borla xr1 muffler instead of the loudmouth muffler/resonator(which is pretty much a straight 4 inch pipe. It is not louder its actually a little bit quiter and doesnt have the drone and in car humm like the LM resonator/muffler. It sounds loud when you "get on it" and sounds much better to me.

It sounds even better in real life. The microphone makes it sound kinda fked up. He also has headers and y pipe which makes it louder. I am putting headers and y on mine next.

my dad pretty much told me if i get straight A's, he will buy my exhaust setup. So lets see here:
Pacesetter Headers & TSP Cat Y Pipe Combo - $680
Loudmouth 2 Catback - $430
Borla XR1 Muffler - $134
Total = $1,234 uninstalled. I have a feeling I'll be paying the installation.
