It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

on the borla there is a restrictor plate on the pass side tail pipe, when you buy it new you have the option of the size of the plate that you install or none at all, dont know the sizes since i got mine used, but mine had the most restrictive plate I think. Simple fix, just unbolt the pipe halves apart and pull the plate. Think it was put there to lessen noise output

Right, removing any plate at all is basically like having an open cutout. For the most part I would imagine you are bypassing the exhaust completely and nothing is flowing through the muffler. Here is a picture of the plates http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...ages/14780.jpg

No not much but if you walk to the back of the car with it running and stick you hand down there you can still feal the exhaust pulse

I had a SLP on my 89 IROC...........a Flowmaster on my 86 IROC and now the Borla on my 2000 Formula.....I liked the SLP on my 89.....the Flow on my 86 was just ok......the Borla is nice to......but I would have never paid that much for it if my car did not already have it.....I am really partial to stainless......rust SUCKS

You must have a bone stock car. pulling the plate in my car made a world of difference. Remarkable sound difference.

Ive heard borla on many cars and to me it always sounds raspy. Off topic a bit Borla Stingers sounds SICKKKKKK on a C5Z06 and better with some LT headers. Going back to our cars even when the person telling me how much he likes it and reving the motor says wow did you hear how nice it sounds i just say ya it sounds good. I know its preference and dont like to hurt anyone's feelings. For me Magnaflow sounds alot better, its deep, hardly any rasp and not too loud depending on what else you've done to your exhaust and that goes for any muffler. I think my Hooker muffler when i had a cat, exhaust cut out open sounded deep and perfect. Now with the cat removed its a little raspy for my taste but most of that has to do with the exhuast cut out and no cat.

magnaflow is way too quiet imo. but it's nice and smooth. Borla is def. louder, +3 on removing the plate. I'm running borla w/no plate, muffler delete, and hf cats and yes it's def a bit raspy but that's my preference. as far as the extra cash I would never pay that much for a catback, mine came wit the car so I got lucky.
