    Borla/Hooker/Gmmg

My buddy is looking for an exhaust and wants to know which one is the loudest with long tubes. I have heard all and I think the gmmg was the loudest but im not sure what other mods it had. At wot they all seemed pretty loud though. I told him to get LM1 if he wants loud but he said it sounds bad to him.

Gmmg is the loudest, borla, and then hooker aerochamber is the quietest. Hooker aerochamber is known for being really quiet until you mash it.

Personal opinion gmmg sounds great on a stock car, borla beats out both as far as sound when headers are involved.

My vote is for hooker for the absolute loudest
I would say Hooker is one of the more quiet ones.

Loudmouths are the loudest, followed by GMMG.

    Borla sounds the best IMO.

Hooker shouldnt even be on that list. GMMG is by far the loudest because its a chambered exhaust like the loudmouth.

When I put lts on my hooker exhaust it got really loud at wot, idle it sounds stock still. Stock it was pretty quiet though. My buddy said he just wants an exhaust thats really loud wide open, thats why I put hooker w/LT's on the list.

My Aerochamber is pretty quiet until I get on it. Then it's loud, but not as much as the chambered exhausts. So of your choices, I'd say the Hooker is the quietest.

The chambered exhausts get pretty raspy with lts correct?

You will have rasp no matter what when you install long tubes and a catback. Some rasp more than others, but there will always be a little bit of rasp. If your going with a chambered exhaust, I would recomend that you get a catted Y-pipe and a good muffler. That should reduce the rasp a good amount.

I have a GMMG system on my car. KOOKS headers, high flow cats and their Y pipe. The engine has a decent cam (228-230- 112lsa) which sounds great with this set up. Now it does get raspy between 2000 - 3000 rpm during "normal" driving but at wot it is one badass machine!!!!

Yes, they will. As Rajiv says, tho, a catted Y will reduce that.

    ^^^Here's evidence.

However, I DO miss my old muffler, it was a Ravin performance muffler that Midas had. After I put my LT/ORY, it was loud as hell!, with some rasp but no resonating at any RPM. I had to get rid of it bc the baffle broke loose and would rattle, sounding like shit. I liked to start the car in a parking garage, with the exhaust pointing to the parking attendent. If you give the car a little throttle while starting, it would explode to life and I saw the parking guy jump out of his chair more than once!

That site has a lot of different setups, but it was hard for me to use it to make a decision. Everyone uses different recording techniques, and a lot of the audio is not very good. Worth looking at tho.
