Best sounding performance exhaust?
I'm hoping to put an Exhaust on the bird come spring and I was wondering everbody's opinion on the best sounding and performing exausts? I'm in Michigan and I don't think we have any sound limits or anything like that.
I want it to sound nice and meaty. Especially if I get around to adding a cam and stuff. I wanna scare the hell out of the ricers... lol
The videos of the 3 chambered exhausts offered on the blue birds or whatnot sounded pretty good I thought.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

http://www.ls1sounds.com check it out and you should get a feel for what you like as opposed to what everyone else likes. everyone is different so this kind of thread usually ends with a "x sounds awesome" and a "x isnt that loud to me but y is way louder" and last but not least "x and y both suck because z sounds way deeper". its definitely a different strokes for different folks thing.

i got borla adjustable with headers and offroad ypipe and it sounds really mean at WOT and it will definitly intimidate other cars. i think GMMG sounds good too but havent herd it with headers yet.

Borla is way way way too low, I have it on right now and its idle is too low, WOT is nice, but still needs to be louder. I'm gonna be going to LT, TSP X to sweet thunder chambered mufflers; I've loved all the videos of it.

Exhaust sound is subjective,
What I like may not suite you and so forth. Like was said above you can check LS1sounds and get a feeling for different set ups but you really need to hear it in person to get the full effect. And you are correct Michigan has No Decibel limit for Exhaust noise you just have to have a working muffler.
BTW if you can make it out to some of the Michigan F-body Association meets during the spring/summer you can hear several different setups.Craig

Dual exhaust with xr-1's will send women and children screeming, and ricers back to the patties.
I have magnaflow bullets they are loud but they drone I think xr-1's are better at reducing the drone.

If you want loud I would go GMMG or stainless works chambered exhaust. Got that old muscle car sound. or you could do a dual exhaust with dumps at the axle w/ dynomax bullets. My buddy had it on his Formula with Lt's and it was loud as hell.

Loudmouth is the WORST sounding exhaust with longtubes. Gets even worse with a cam.
Magnaflow.
